Why you Need to Drink Water

Water is, indeed, life. As much as most of us have heard that statement before, a surprisingly large part of the population rarely respects it enough to heed it. But a review of the benefits one gets from water should set that record straight. At the same time, do not drink water anyhow; you need to do it right. More on that later.
Water lubricates the joints. The cartilage present in joints and the disks of the spine are about 80{8532ebda576306bb7943f1f5f5debafa1cabba00b2f34281bd23feec16eba04d} water. If you remain dehydrated for long, a deterioration of the cartilage will leave your joints unable to absorb shock properly, thus leading to joint pain. Water is also necessary for producing saliva and mucus. Saliva is a digestive aid, as well as for keeping the mouth, nose, and eye moist. Without moisture, there would be friction and damage. Drinking water will also help keep the mouth clean. It is also necessary to minimize your consumption of sweet beverages, which would damage your teeth.

Water helps in distributing oxygen throughout the body. Your blood is mostly water, and that blood serves as the carrier for oxygen. Apart from that, water improves skin health and beauty. Dehydration opens the door to skin disorders and premature wrinkling.

Water is also a cushion for the brain, spinal cord, and other sensitive tissues. Dehydration could, therefore, lead to brain damage. Dehydration also means a reduction in the production of hormones and neurotransmitters. You will notice a dehydrated person having a hard time thinking and reasoning.

Water helps control body temperature. When you sweat, water which was stored in the middle layers of the skin rises to the outer layer. As it evaporates, you feel cool as your body temperature drops.

Your digestive system also needs a good water supply. A lack of water leads to digestive issues such as constipation, an unusually acidic stomach, and such. You could develop heartburn or stomach ulcers. You will also have a hard time flushing body waste. Urine and feces are only removed properly when you are hydrated.

Water also avails minerals and nutrients in the body. The essential substances dissolve in water, which allows them to reach different parts of the body. Water then helps prevent kidney damage. When you do not take enough water, you could develop kidney stones and other complications.

Water also helps you perform better during exercise. If you get dehydrated, you cannot reasonably expect to keep up a good performance. In most cases, the more you exercise, the more water you need to keep up. Once you cut off your water supply, that performance has been seen to dwindle.

Those who wish to lose weight have an ally in water. It is the perfect substitute for sweetened juices and sodas. It is also ideal for filling up your stomach before eating, to prevent overeating. Apart from that, you will not feel a hangover as badly once you hydrate. You can minimize the effects of alcohol when you take water interchangeably.

To make your drinking water more effective, you need first to improve its taste. You can do so using lemon or lime slices in the water bottle. At the same time, water enhancer will improve its qualities. You can learn more about it on this site.
